February has arrived and right in the middle of the month is Valentines Day! I love Valentines Day – always have, always will! Just a few of my favorite things; chocolate, flowers, stuffed animals, chocolate (just worth adding to the list again), and LOVE! The vibrant colors of red roses nestled next to the soft pallet of pinks and the purity of white just make my heart smile! Seasonal Conversation Heart candies, beautifully decorated boxes of confection, and a plethora of cards and notes to share with people you love.
But I am reminded that LOVE runs much deeper than a once a year emotion. LOVE is an awareness and an overall state of being; a fruit of God’s Holy Spirit that gives us the ability to receive His amazing and pure love and then in return and worship give to another human being. What if we took the conversation beyond a confectionery sugar mold with a stamped message and placed the very seal of God’s love on our hearts. The truth of a love that moves beyond an emotion and a chocolate box into our very being.
Forrest Gump says his momma said, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you will get.” What a true statement! But when we unwrap the truth of God’s love; His pure and holy LOVE we are able to delight in truth that hopes, bears, protects and perseveres all things! The most excellent way, the greatest of all LOVE! A life that multiplies LOVE in the daily moments of living, that is pure worship!
May your February (and New Year) be rich in delighting in the very presence of LOVE, the ONE who IS LOVE, Jesus Christ. When you open that box, you truly know what you will get, each and every time; a message and love letter that has the power to transform, restore and renew – LOVE! May you delight in that truth today and everyday! #ihopeyoudance #20/20vision #loveis #greatestofall
“4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8 Love never fails” 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
