You know that book so many have encouraged me to publish, well it is in its final stages of development. A labor of love, a witness to Divine inspiration, a journey of trials and triumphs, it is all coming together, in His name and for His glory! Many of my evenings are dedicated to sitting at the computer writing, formatting, editing, etc. This season of limiting exposure in a pandemic has allowed me to truly focus and bring this book and concept to a reality.
However, I have missed a beautiful reminder of the end of the day. Last evening I went to my car to grab my laptop and was reminded of the beauty of the close of a day. A shade of lavender washed over the sky against a vibrant orange that was being chased by the darkness of night. It was in that moment that the July heat and humidity in Georgia didn’t chase me back into the comfort of an air conditioned space. I stood there simply in awe of the sky surrounding me and was reminded of the power of the Creator to overwhelm us with His works.
Summer has looked different this year; cancelled travel, no summer concert series, no parades or fireworks, no evenings at the ball park, and the list goes on. But the evening sky continues to remind us of a canvas of His glory, a painting brushed in His power, and a watercolor of His faithfulness. We walk in uncertain times; however, we are reminded at the close of every day that the sun will rise in the morning.
So today as we await the sunrise we are reminded that regardless of what life will toss our way only One provides and sustains our joy. Only One wakes our spirit with the break of day and lulls us to rest as a canvas of color invites the darkness of night. So today and everyday treasure your sunrises and cherish your sunsets, and be reminded of the joy that rests in the witness of a Creator making all things new.
“They who dwell in the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs;
You make the dawn and the sunset shout for joy.” Psalm 65:8
“From the rising of the sun to its setting
The name of the Lord is to be praised.” Psalm 113:3
